Norway
Norway, officially called the Kingdom of Norway (Norwegian; Kongeriket
Norge), is a constitutional monarchy in northern Europe. Norway
occupies the western and northern portions of the Scandinavian Peninsula
and is bordered on the north by the Barents Sea, on the northeast
by Finland and Russia, on the east by Sweden, on the south by Skagerrak
Strait and the North Sea, and on the west by the Atlantic Ocean.
Oslo is the nation's capital. It is also the largest city. About
twenty five percent of the total population of Norway lives in the
vicinity of Oslo. Bergen is the second-largest city. Other important
cities are Trondheim and Stavanger.

Drive on the right, overtake on the left.
Driving licence must be carried at all times.

VEHICLE REQUIREMENTS
You must carry a Warning Triangle. Also a first aid kit and a
spare bulb kit are recommended.
SPEED LIMITS
Cars only
Built-up areas = 50 kph
Major roads outside towns = 80 kph
Motorways = 90 kph
MOTORWAYS
The Motorway in Norwegian is Motorveinen. There are toll roads
in Norway, these are usually the link roads to major towns and cities.
Tolls are minimal and are paid in cash.
SEAT BELTS
The use of seat belts is compulsory for front and rear seat passengers.
Children under 4 years old must use a proper seat or restraint.
Children over 4 years should travel in the rear seats and be properly
secured.
DRIVING LICENCE
Minimum driving age 18 years
National driving licence is accepted
FINES
Police can collect on-the-spot fines.
Excessive use of horns is illegal.
Trams always have priority. Trams in Oslo should be passed on the
right, but they may be passed on the left if there's no room on
the right or if traveling on a one-way street.
DRINKING and DRIVING
Blood / alcohol limit is 0.02 percent and penalties for exceeding
the limit are severe.

PARKING
Parking on main roads or on bends is not allowed.
A sign that reads "All stans forbudt" means no stopping
allowed. Parking meters operate in the main towns. You must use
parking lights during darkness in poorly lit streets. Parking regulations
are strictly enforced. The impounding of cars is usual for illegally
parked cars.
