The Republic of South Africa is the southernmost country in Africa.
Bordered on the north by Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique,
and Swaziland, on the east and south by the Indian Ocean and on
the west by the Atlantic Ocean. The country has three capital cities,
Cape Town is the legislative capital, Pretoria is the executive
capital and Bloemfontein the judicial capital.
Climate
South Africa enjoys a generally warm, temperate
climate. Most of the country experiences light rainfall and long
hours of sunshine.

In South Africa, they drive on the left and overtake on the right.
Your driving licence & car hire documents must with you at
all times when driving.
Petrol Stations are plentiful on main roads in The Cape area and
are normally open 24 hours. They are not usually self-service but
have attendants to assist you (small tip is appreciated). Petrol
is comparatively inexpensive but can only be purchased with cash.
Drink Driving, the police do carry out random roadside tests and
if guilty can impose hefty fines or even imprisonment.
Seatbelts must be worn at all times.
Speed Limits are generally 60 kph in urban areas, 100 kph in rural
areas and 120 kph on motorways. Ensure you adhere to the speed limits
as even in a hire car you are responsible for all traffic fines.
Speed Cameras are used on the main roads.
