Hyannis
Hyannis is an unincorporated village, in the town of Barnstable, Barnstable County, southeastern Massachusetts, on the southern coast of Cape Cod, on Lewis Bay. It is a popular summer resort, a commercial center, and a distribution point for fish and cranberries. A family home of President John F. Kennedy is in nearby Hyannisport. Settled in 1666 and named for a local Native American leader, Hyannis grew as a business center after the railroad reached here in 1854.
